We are so excited to see you and celebrate together this upcoming school year!

Although things may be different this semester, Chabad House will always be your Jewish home away from home!

We are adapting to the COVID situation for everyone's health and safety and will continue to follow its developments, revising our plans as necessary. Our plans were developed in consultation with University administration and following all state and CDC guidelines.

1. Chabad’s NEW Outdoor Space

We are setting up an open air tent in the parking lot behind the Chabad House. All Chabad in-person events will take place in the tent, with physical distancing and other safety measures. Masks are strictly required and RSVP will be a MUST for all events. (RSVP will allow us to limit the number of attendees when necessary and trace contact if needed.)

2. Shabbats

Shabbat @ Chabad will continue being the highlight of our week! Shabbat dinners and lunches will take place in the tent. We have also put great care into our food serving plan, following University state and CDC guidelines.

3. High Holidays

Holiday Dinners and Lunches will be served similar to the Shabbat meals in the open air tent.

We are working on a range of options for High Holiday Services that you will be able to choose from.
Some possible options include:

  • An indoor service, limited in size, with participants wearing masks and keeping safe distances apart. This service will require reservations.
  • A short service in the open air tent, with participants wearing masks and keeping safe distances apart.
  • Shofar blowing service and a High Holiday message in various locations around campus.
  • Tashlich Service by the foot bridge.
  • Do-It-Yourself kit that would include the Rabbi's Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur messages (most important;)), selected prayers, a how to guide, and a home cooked holiday meal.

4. Learning opportunities and Sinai Scholars

We will once again offer a wide array of classes throughout the semester with both in-person and virtual options! More details coming soon!

The world may be a different place since we last met, but our community remains the same warm, loving place for all of us!!

With heartfelt wishes for a healthy and successful school year!
